A Trip to a Friend's
Take a trip to a friend's house to have an experience. A day trip may give you lots of images for your painting. Something different, something colorful at your friend's house can give you a painting. Ran out of inspiration, ran out of ideas; take a trip. It is cheap at a friend's house.
A rainy day, sun poking through the clouds, the spring weather, or freshly planted flowers. A day of relaxation and new sights. Paint it after your trip. What you take in on your trip; you put out in your picture. The more you relax, the more that goes into your painting.
Worms surfacing in the rain.
Let your friend wash the dishes. Have a stress-free day. They do the cooking; you sit in the yard. A day off with extras.
Different scenery than home. Maybe discuss a book they have been reading. Talk about the philosophy of reincarnation, seeing worms on the asphalt in the rain, and stories about mermaids. Over the year you could see lots of seasonal things to paint at different sites.
Mermaids come out of a book. Worms can be seen in spring rain times. Sometimes you can want a Buddhism painting with reincarnation. A different trip, a different painting could be your theme for paintings.
Reincarnated worm.
A simple found happiness can make a whole painting on your day trip. Call your friend in advance, make sure it is okay. See if they will treat you to lunch and clean up. Bring your family. Pay for gas yourself.
In the morning watch the rain, in the afternoon talk about the book. While leaving look at the worms. A spring bird eating a worm. It is all a part of nature. Stories, nature, and T. V., it can all go into your painting.
A bird pulling the worm out of the ground.
Have a day for nature, paint. Have a day for T. V., start a new painting. Read your favorite story, paint new again. Your expression of the story is what you liked. 3 good paintings from 3 ideas.
Find your painter style and stick with it. If you like your day trip painting, make day trip paintings every time. I have a variety of paint themes, and I like them all. Pick one or pick all. Similar painting style or different.
A day trip is good to get you out whether you use it for painting or not. A day off may start painting for you and then you like your front yard to paint anyway. Painting should be fun and relaxing. Relax to paint. Trees or birds or flowers you stare at while at home. All good painting subject material.
